In-Person Advising

In-person office hours are Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. It is important to note that scheduling an appointment is not necessary for general questions and registration assistance. Students should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing time. Please note that during the summer, all campuses are closed on Fridays.

During peak registration times at the beginning of each semester, advisors assist students with registration on a drop-in basis. Appointments may be limited for students who wish to discuss prerequisites, academic plans or other in-depth issues. Students may contact their preferred campus directly or submit a Help Ticket to request an appointment. Virtual accommodations can be made available for distance-learning students.

Drop-in Advising

Continuing and new students who have completed Group Advising are welcome to meet an advisor in person.

Group Advising

All new first-semester students must attend a Group Advising Session. This includes first-time college students and transfer students.

Group Advising is not intended for current or returning PHSC students. Students can register for Group Advising after completing all the necessary steps in the Bobcat Application Portal.

During Group Advising, new students will learn how to register for classes, navigate systems, review academic programs and much more.

Preparing for Advising Meeting

Our advisors want every student to gain the most benefits from each appointment. To ensure this, students need to prepare by:

  • Bringing a government-issued ID or student ID
  • Considering two academic or professional goals to discuss
  • Completing the basic enrollment steps prior to the advising appointment
  • Reviewing Degree Audit
  • Bringing any copies of academic documents relevant to the meeting such as:
    • Unofficial copies of prior transcripts of any institutions attended
    • Score reports (PERT, AP, SAT, CLEPT, etc.)
